Diving

Diving:  along with the noted yachting activities off the waters of BVI, diving is another offshore activity here.  BVI’s waters provide outstanding underwater visibility, healthy coral and a wide variety of exotic dive sites, with air temperatures between 80 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. Countless reefs, towering coral pinnacles, underwater caves, lava tunnels, canyons, massive boulders and grottoes are strewn across this vast submerged shelf, creating a choice of dive sites that range from shallow (for the novice snorkeler) to dramatic sea caverns and extraordinary shipwrecks for the experienced scuba diver.

Divers can enjoy wreck diving on the historic RMS Rhone, Chikuzen, Fearless, Inganess Bay, Marie L, Pat, Beata and the Joey D, or explore coral reefs such as the Indians, Painted Walls, Blonde Rock, Alice in Wonderland, Ginger Steps, The Chimney and many more.   For a list of dive sites (there are over 80 of them within BVI’s waters), check out the following website:  www.bvitourism.com/dive-sites
